Longfellow's epic narrative poem, recounting the life and deeds of the legendary Iroquois leader and hero, accompanied by photographs of the Ojibwa tribe's annual theatrical production of the story in Wa-ya-ga-mug, Michigan. The foreword by Dr. Gunsaulus tells of his meeting with Longfellow and discussion of the poem. Bound in brown cloth lettered and decorated in black and gilt, spine lettered and decorated in black and gilt, light rubbing to spine ends and corners, front and rear hinges each have a small split, one ner head and one near foot. A very nice copy.
