Geographia Map Co.. circa1945.. Very large colour maps, on a sheet 98.5 x 136 cms, folding into a red and blue pictorial cover, five full color maps on the recto: Japan on a larger scale (two inset maps: density of population; minerals); Japanese Empire (three inset maps: Taiwan; Bonin Islands; the Philippines); Oceania and Australia; and South East Asia; and on the verso: Map of the Pacific with Places Occupied by U.S. Forces and Probable U.S. bases marked in red, publisher's advertisements on one panel, some edge wear and discolouration, browning to the folds, a few small fold splits with no loss, but overall bright, in very good condition. There is an extensive listing of "Indispensable Maps and Atlases" with prices. The very bold cover graphic harkens back to a traditional Western pre-World War II view of Japan. Alexander… Read More
