The Hardcover Boards (No Dust Jacket as Issued) have a Very Light Shelfwear and the Gilt Lettering on the Spine is Dull, but the Boards retain Strong Gilt Lettering on the Front Cover and Sharp Corners with No Tears, Creases, Stains, or Any Major Damage. The Binding is Strong and Intact. The Interior is Clean and Unmarked (other than the Author's Signature and Presentation, of course) with No Writing, Highlighting, or Underlining and has occasional Soiling but No Tears, Creases, Mold, or Other Major Damage. And like Hal Smith in his 1943 book "On the Gathering of a Library," we "confess an affection for the presentation copy. The author had it in his hand. He turned its pages. He wrote in it his message of friendship or affection. Such a book is somehow consecrated. It has received an accolade and has been raised to the nobility (57)." A few scuffs and shelf rubs.
