Original grey cloth boards with gilt lettering along spine, gilt illustration of front cover. Shelfwear: scuffing along edges and cover boards, light spine tanning, a few light stains on covers, two previous owner names and gift inscription on title page, bookstamp on title page and all three page edges, bookplate on inside front cover and front endpaper, former price in black ink on front endpaper, light tanning on page leafs, some light pencil marks throughout volume. Previous owner has also pasted into book several additional color illustrations of Chinese Wares on inside front cover, copyright page, preface, table of contents. Tightly bound. Volume is in Good-plus condition..

Cloth a little rubbed and dust-smudged; spine tips and corners bumped; hinges tender (with mull exposed along lower portion of front hinge); binding somewhat rolled and shaken. Faint stain on front paste-down, where it appears a bookplate was removed, otherwise internally nice and clean. An excellent working copy, with index and bibliography.
