Rare issue in original wrapper with artistic rendition of Helen Hayes and Gary Cooper characters. Stated at copyright: "Copyright, 1929 by Charles Scribner's Sons. Published September, 1929; Reprinted twice in September, 1929; Reprinted October, 1929; Reprinted three times in November 1929." Measures apprx. 5 1/4" x 7 5/8" design. This edition appears to slightly precede the official 1932 Grosset photoplay edition which is common in the red cloth boards. Dark brown full cloth boards, navy semi-reflective cover and spine titles, light shelf wear, rub, discoloration. Deckled pages near fine; light toning at endpapers.
