Description:
Self-Published, 1975. Hardcover. Acceptable. Hardcover. 5.75x8.75 inches. Vanity publication of poems and prose by Lola Brown Harkrider, a former historian of the Waukesha Historical Society. This little book was published just a few years before her death at the age of 87. The dust jacket is present: yellowed, rubbed, worn, crimped and chipped along all edges, with fingerprint smudges on the rear. Blue cloth covered boards are worn through at the corners and at the top and bottom of spine. Paste downs and end papers are age-toned. The book was inscribed by Mrs. Harkrider to a fellow classmate who participated in a class called "Creative Women" and taught by the late Vi Wendt. Tucked between the pastedowns and end papers are articles about Harkrider, including her obituary and other mementos. Front pastedown also has what appears to be a blank, yet colorful ex-libris sticker. The newspaper clipping has created a dark brown stain between the endpaper and half title page.
