Description:
HUNTING CAMPS IN WOOD AND WILDERNESS, Sturgis & Walton, 1910, first edition (American issue with a seven page introduction by the author not in the British edition), spine a bit lightened, else just about a fine copy in the publishers original gold-gilt lettered cloth binding in a very good dust-wrapper with some wear and tear and soiling. Very scarce in dust-wrapper. Adventure and trekking in Patagonia and Newfoundland. Profusely illustrated with photos and 6 full page, full color plates. Two page forward by Frederick Selous. INSCRIBED by Prichard shortly after publication in 1911 to a gentleman mentioned in this very book. Books SIGNED or INSCRIBED by British polymath H. Hesketh Prichard are exceedingly rare; in fact, this is the only such copy available that I note in the current market place and have not been aware of any others for considerably more than a decade.
