NY: Houghton, Mifflin & Co., 1932 NF in blue cloth with a worn but unclipper wrapper. NOTE: We have recently purchased a large collection of Modern First Editions (like this title) by various authors from the 20's & 30's from a local estate here in Northern New Hampshire. They include scarce and collectable pieces by; L. M. Montgomery, D. E. Stevenson, A. P. Terhune, Dora Aydelotte, R. Ross Annett, Sara Ware Bassett, ames B. Connolly, and several others. Most of these are in Near Fine condition with dust wrappers and host the former owners bookplate on the verso (inside) of the front cover. These paper plates measure 1-3/4"x2-3/4" and features a photo of a Garden Gate with the words 'My Book' on top and the owners name (Jennie P. Dow) on the bottom, quite a nice touch. Previous owner's inscription on front free endpaper, sparse, mild spotting, else internally neat and clean. Firmly bound. VG almost no wear; in fair, worn and torn, dj. (but except for a couple of tiny chips, the dj is all present so dj looks pretty good in mylar cover.) Physician's memoirs of his years healing Labrador fishing communities. .

Book is in Very Good- condition, with some edgewear to cover and some small, light soil marks and discoloration. Some foxing, mostly in endpapers, and age-tanning throughout. Text pages otherwise clean and secure. Stamp in front endpaper "USS HUSE (de 145) 305" indicates may have been a ship library book.
