The author, Thomas J. Graham wrote several medical text books and was a member of The Royal College of Surgeons. Graham (1805 - 1869) was a pioneer in dialysis treatment and the study of the diffusion of gases; he was first president of the Chemical Society of London and won the Royal Medal of the Royal Society, and the Prix Jecker of the Paris Academy. 8vo, xii, 272, 31pp tall octavo, very good copy in original green cloth and original paper title piece on spine.
