Philadelphia, PA: Hubbard Brothers, 1883. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, dark yellow pictorial boards decorated in black and gilt. Exterior shows scuffing and soiling along with edge and corner bumps/wear, top of spine is frayed. The internal binding is good for the most part, except for a small opening starting at the top of the front board. The tissue guard for the frontispiece is still present and attached but it did not stop the image from affecting the title page. Pages are toned due to age and there is some scattered foxing and spotting present. No signatures or bookplates, no handwriting, no library markings. There is a dark rectangular mark at page 226/227, this was likely caused by a piece of paper being in there for quite a long time that reacted with the pages. This rectangular mark is dark but the areas on the pages are still readable.
