This book is in good condition. There is a considerable amount of wear on the front, back, spine and edges of the cover boards. There is a small ink stain on the front cover board and the lettering is fading on the front and spine of the cover boards. The corners of the cover boards are bumped significantly. One of the previous owners name is affixed on the inside of the front cover board and the other previous owners name is written on the front end page. The pages are yellowed and tanned and there are some markings and underlining. "Scholarship in this country for long clung to the traditional view of the Fourth Gospel, and we still lack in English a satisfactory commentary on the whole text written from the standpoint of the more moderate among recent continental commentators.
