Both volumes nearly as issued, with minor foxing along text block edges and to several early and late leaves, otherwise clean. Dust jackets slightly soiled, small chip to Vol. I dj at head of front joint, now in mylar. 655 pp., continuously paginated. Vol. I inscribed by Shumway to former owner and prominent long-rifle collector Alfred Clegg on half-title, full signature, dated 8 Nov. 1980.
