Third edition, the "Merchants' Edition." A comprehensive survey of commercial activity in Philadelphia on the eve of the Civil War. The book was written in an attempt to demonstrate the importance of Philadelphia as a commercial and manufacturing center and the tremendous amount of information contained in it attests to its achieving that goal. Despite erratic numbering at the beginning, this copy is complete as published. A fine copy.
