The inscription reads: "For Ralph Baker, with his warm regards. F.F." Mr. Justice Holmes is Frankfurter's finest statement of his admiration for Holmes. It did much to shape Holmes's posthumous reputation. Ralph Baker [1888-1966] was a law professor at Harvard from 1932 to 1958. He specialized in trust and corporation law.
