A handsome and rather curious uniform 19th century binding of full Russia boards with close matching morocco spine and corners, the transition between the two leathers demarcated by a thin blind tooled border, spines with raised bands, gilt lettered to two panels, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt, an early armorial bookplate "Dieu Pour Nous" to the front pastedown, underneath which another pictorial bookplate of the (private) "Beaufoy Library". Occasional minor wear to the extremities, a handsome set.
