Endpapers faintly foxed, neat inscription dated 1846 on second blank front endpaper, small chip to 1 lower margin, due to paper flaw. A very good clean sturdy copy of the first edition. William Dickson (1751-1823) of Moffat in Scotland drove the Abolitionist campaign there. He had been in Barbados as the secretary to the Governor for 13 years and saw slaves being overworked, brutally punished and executed without a proper trial.
