Serving with distinction as a fighting commander in WW1, Wavell was a General in WW2 when recalled to London to be part of Churchill's War Cabinet as Commander-in-Chief, Middle East- they did not get on and in June 1941 Churchill replaced him. 574 pages with 15 pages of black and white photographs, 6 maps and endpaper maps. Book in very good- condition with previous owners name stamp top title page and bottom edge, title page has split along binding but all sound and minor water damage first endpaper and first page. Cover has some wear (see photos). No dust jacket.
