Missing all but one of the calf tiles from the spines. Marbled endpapers. Prize gift inscription neatly penned to free front endpaper verso. Slightly foxed. All edges gilt.

Description:
London: Prostant Venales Apud R. Priestley; Typis Excudebat J. F. Dove, 1819. In Latin. Complete in seven volumes, the final volume also containing the extensive indices. Three quarter vellum over marbled boards, dual spine labels in red and black, gilt lettering and spine decoration, books about 8.5 inches tall. Includes a handwritten letter from 1836 mounted on the front free endpaper from a Gorden Gill someone named Oliveira, discussing the importance of Cicero and presenting the books as a token of friendship. Bookplate of Hamilton White Swift is inside the front cover of each volume. Covers rubbed, vellum darkened as typical but bindings not splayed, spines of first two volumes have a couple of drops of white paint, sound bindings, clean pages with just a few light traces of foxing to a handful of pages, pencil notes on blank at the end of third volume, no other markings. A sound set in lovely aged vellum.. Hard Cover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
