Some top edge and a little fore-edge foxing but a clean copy internally. No ownership inscription. 228 pages + 3 pages publisher's adverts. Frontispiece and 25 illustrations. Map on front end-papers. This is an uncommon and interesting record of his journeys in the wilds of Central Africa with an account of the peoples he encountered and their customs and beliefs.
