Photographer, sculptor, writer, and filmmaker Brassaï's tribute to his friend, American writer Henry Miller (1891-1980). It was Miller who first called Brassaï 'the eye of Paris', alluding to his supreme talent as a photographer. The first edition of this work appeared in a limited edition of 25 copies.

The recipient was a French journalist and writer on parapsychology. A service de press copy with the discrete 'S.P.' perforated stamp to the lower wrappers and last two leaves.
