Edges rubbed and small loss on foot of spine. Spine lightly faded and light soiling on covers with small stain on front board. Front hinge cracked but holding. Former owner's stamp on front free end sheet, another owner's book plate on front paste down and another owner's name on second page.

Spine rebacked in tape, and first few leaves also repaired. Leather quite scuffed, rubbed away at corners and top edge. Card pocket on front free endpaper. Some foxing throughout. Interior is very good. This is an uncommon history of the Western American territories by Utahan author Beadle. A fascinating, profusely illustrated book with a lovely leather binding, which is sadly marred by the rebacking. (Howes B269).
