Some minor offsetting to blank endpapers but internally clean and bright. Some marking to the rear board but still overall a very good copy. Becoming increasingly difficult to find in collectable condition in the publishers cloth.

Publishers original burgundy cloth with decorative blind stamped floral design to both boards, the front board lettered and ruled in gilt. Spine ruled and lettered in gilt. Page edges untrimmed. Internally a fine bright and clean copy throughout. A little rubbing to the binding extremities and just a hint of fading to the spine but overall a very good, bright copy. Becoming increasingly difficult to find in collectable condition in the publishers cloth.

Spine with raised bands, twin brown labels and compartments fully gilt. Red cloth on boards. Red marbled endpapers. Top edge gilt. Binding by Young and Sons of Liverpool. Aside from some minor rubbing to the edges this is a very good, clean copy of this classic, beautifully illustrated, edition in an attractive fine early binding.:

Fore and lower page edges untrimmed. Aside from some browning to the tissue guard opposite the frontis that has affected the frontis and title page very mildly, and also on the blank endpapers, this is a very good, bright copy internally. The cloth spine is a little faded but overall this is a very good, clean and fresh copy of this attractive volume.
