Description:
Edinburgh, Scotland: C J Cousland & Sons Ltd, 1949. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 6.5" x 9. Mackay. H/B. pages not numbered, condition is Very Good, The Book is dedicated and signed by the illustrator. It has a book plate on the inside the front cover (David Sibbald). Blue cloth boards. bumping to corners and spine. This is the story of how, through more than a thousand years, life and order and great goodness came to a place which began as a bare hillside, a moor, a glen, a loch and a rock. It is a true story, but even the wisest minds sometimes make "errors of judgment" and put things as they imagine, rather than stop when facts fail. Take it, as it is told, that whatever may not keep to the letter always keeps to the spirit of the story.
