About This Item
First edition of this book of avant-garde-inflected verse by a Lithuanian poet about whom we are unable to find any information. With a highly unusual surrealist-constructivist vignette by Vladas Fedotas-SipaviÄius (1904-1992), signed and dated by the artist on the plate, and with appealing typographic design throughout.
Fedotas-SipaviÄius was born into a Russian family and received his training in Moscow, before returning to Lithuania in 1922. He was largely known for his work in the theatre and performing arts. From 1949 to 1956 he was deported to Siberia by Soviet authorities.
Not in JankeviÄiÅ«tÄ, Lietuvos grafika (The Graphic Arts in Lithuania, 1918-1940).
