About This Item
San Francisco: GGIE, 1940. Staplebound Wraps. 8p,, self-wraps ergo 12p counting recto & verso of both covers. Stapled 11x8.5 inch color wraps with b&w guts. The colorwork offers wonderful cigaret and Coke ads and an amazing beer ad from San Francisco's Acme Breweries. A profusion of b&w backstage photos show the family working their sizeable pinocchios, which can smoke and sing opera as well as display the usual marionette skills. Sad to say, an enormous (3.5x2.5 inch) dampstain has rippled and tinted the upper corner of beer & cig ads, with less damage to the Coca Cola lady. Staples are holding with just a touch of rust. A fun, almost-good copy. The Acme ad for "dietetically non-fattening" beer is footnoted with the phrase "Relatively so, compared to other foods
