Inscribed by one of the contributing authors , Nan Rosenthal, an American art historian and the first Professor of Art History at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Illustrated throughout with hundred of black-and-white and colour images. The life and work of Yves Klein, a French artist and an important figure in post-war European art. He was a leading member of the French artistic movement of Nouveau réalisme and a pioneer in the development of performance art. With contributions written by Dominique de Menil, Dominique Bozo, Jean-Yves Mock, Pierre Restany, Thomas McEvilley, Nan Rosenthal, Carol C. Mancusi-Ungaro, and the artist himself. In the original full white cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor wear to the extremities and the odd very small mark to the boards. Original unclipped dust wrapper is also smart with light wear to the extremities and the odd small closed tear. Light sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Author's ink inscription to the title page. Near Fine
