Ca. 1850. Previous owner's name (twice). This author, William A. Alcott, had written The Young Wife in 1837. A handbook for a happy marriage from the man's point-of-view. Includes reference to the Flitch of Bacon tradition. Heavy emphasis on Christian teaching. 288 pp..
