Orpington: G. Allen 1883. 8vo. viii, 133 pp. Original quarter parchment-paper over pictorial boards. Black lettering to spine. Spine darkened and boards rubbed & slightly edgeworn. Internally clean. Mezzotint frontis after Mackmurdo. The cover and title-page design by the author are widely recognized as the the first expression of Art Nouveau in England. Mackmurdo founded the Century Guild of Artists in 1882 and in addition to his architectural practice designed furniture and other cabinetry. Scarce. . Good. Parchment Paper Spine. 1883.
