Methuen and Co, 1900. First Edition, First State. Hardcover. VERY GOOD. 347 pp. With 47 page Publishers Catalogue dated August 1900 to rear. Red cloth, gilt lettering. Deckled tail edge. Spine sunned, toned, front hinge starting, a bit of rubbing to extremities, a few small splotches to boards, sharp and clean otherwise. 'The London edition was printed from American plates and appears to have been issued a few days prior to the Stokes edition' --BAL 4090.
