Each play is individually paginated. At the beginning of each play there is a small note giving the first time the work was published in folio and what the play contains – how many acts, how many scenes and how many lines. The Merry Wives of Windsor – [6], 3 - 114, [2] pages, persons represented, notes and glossary, & All's Well That Ends Well: – [2], 3 - 121, [1] pages, persons represented, notes and glossary. Illustrated endpapers. Colour illustrated frontispiece, by "LFD". Each play is illustrated with one colour illustration – protected by tissue guard with appropriate quote for the illustration. Maroon coloured cloth covered boards with gilt illustration and titles to the back strip. Gilt to the top textblock edge. Pale blue coloured place marker in situ. Volume 4 of a set of Shakespeare's works, this time: – The Merry Wives of Windsor & All's Well That Ends Well. The book is showing age and wear. Softening to the back strip edges with bumping of the book corners. Flecking to the book panels with fading of the back strip. Uniform tanning and foxing of the text block edges and age toning and scattered foxing of the pages. Previous owners rubber stamp and library notation to the top edge of the half title page for "The Merry Wives of Windsor". Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Deckled Front and Lower Edges (rough cut).
