Octavos. 19 volume complete set. Bound in three-quarter brown leather over marbled boards with yellow stained page ends and marbled endpapers. Elaborate gilt tooling to spine. Maroon and brown spine labels with date of "1814" at bottom spine of each volume. Illustrated frontispiece portrait by J. Burgess of Swift intact in volume 1. Books are in very good plus condition. Spines straight, corners sharp. Interiors are clean with no writing or names except for some small old prices in pencil on first page of first few volumes. Has some light foxing to interior pages of several volumes. Bindings are sound and all pages intact. Books have some general shelf wear/rubbing and a few small nicks to outside edges. A lovely set of this landmark edition of the complete works of Jonathan Swift. Includes "Notes and A Life of the Author" by Walter Scott.
