Gilt-blocked red and green leather labels to spines, with raised bands and compartments uniformly tooled in gilt. Single gilt-lined border to panels. Spine bands are slightly worn as with age. Hinges are starting in places, particularly vols. 1, 6 & 10. Light surface marks to panels. Panel edges are somewhat dulled and rubbed. Light foxing around prelims and terminals of vols. Remains particularly well-preserved overall; tight, bright, clean and strong. Provenance: From the library of T. H. H. Davies, Elmley Castle with his bookplate to the front pastedown of each volume. ; 8vo 8"" - 9"" tall; Physical description: 10 v. plate (fold.) ; 22 cm.
