Quarto, catalog for an exhibition at ICP, pp. 216, printed boards, color illustration. Presents Levinthal's large-format Polaroid work using toys and dolls to comment on 20th-century history and our perceptions of it. Photos presented here were used in Levinthal's "Hitler Moves East" and "Mein Kampf" as well as "American Beauties," "Blackface" and others. His work was the avant garde of a modern movement to create images commenting on other images. Condition of this book: Fine, little sign of wear. Size: Quarto. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing.
