Description:
Santa Monica: Graphic Communications Consultants, 1970. Octavo. (28)pp. Of considerable visual impact photographically and typographically, the calendar begins in July 1970 and ends with June 1971. Each month organizes its days according to significant events in feminist history, added to which are numerous portraits of relevant figures emblematic of the movement, even anachronistically (Queen Elizabeth I, for example). The historical ambition of the calendar situates its contemporary moment, depicted by the likes of Shirley Chisholm and other women at protest marches, within an immediate and powerful context. Bound in checkered pictorial wrappers, mildly toned, else near fine.
