About This Item
Conari Press, 1996. First edition, first printing. From the poet Janine Pommy Vega's private libary and low and behold there is young Janine on the cover of the book. In our opinion, no woman or poet in their youth represented the Beat generation in portrait as well as Janine Pommy Vega. You may find her in other books on the Beat generation unidentified, but it is her. American Book Award of 1997, Janine Pommy Vega has signed her own book with a small bookplate tipped in on the opening of the book. A brilliant collection with vintage photographs, along with work by many of the finest. Along with wonderful asides by Jay DeFeo and Gui de Angulo, as well as Mary Norbert Korte and Carolyn Cassady, Jane Bowles, Helen Adam and others. Fine and bright pictorial stiff wraps with clean text
