About This Item
Chicago: Newsstand Library, 1960. First Edition. Willeford's fifth paperback original novel, bearing the uncommon signature of cover artist Robert Bonfils. Bonfils was one of the most prolific illustrators of mass market paperbacks during the late 1950's-early 1960's, and books signed by him are quite uncommon. Basis for a 1999 film adaptation starring Patrick Warburton. First Printing. Octavo (16cm); illustrated wrappers; yellow-orange edge-staining; 192pp. Signed by Robert Bonfils on the title page. Faint diagonal crease near the lower left corner of the front cover, extending across the spine, and a tiny, shallow bruise at the upper right corner, affecting top edge of first ten pages; edge-staining is bright and even; Very Good+.
