Thumb-marking present. Visible creasing to gutter. Cracking to gutters, with exposed binding threads. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Visible tanning to spine and edges. Noticeable peeling leather to spine. Water staining to boards. Scuffing and marks to boards.
Synopsis
In the private editorial office of the principal newspaper in a great colonial city two men were talking. They were both young. The stouter of the two, fair, and with more of an urban look about him, was the editor and part-owner of the important newspaper.
