The text while still wonderful reading leaves out much of the Mysteries -meta-physical-mystical & other-worldly-Messianic tendencies. Essentially most Jewish wisdom looks to realization in the earthly world-directed towards the individual and his relations with others. But the wisdom of the ancients— feed those eschatological hopes not only consoled and fortified the Jews in time of trouble; without these hopes Jewish universalism - absolutely unthinkable-movement of the Essenes- Christianity itself.
