Frontispiece color plate, (vi), 200 pages, 96 black-and-white photographic plates; Frontispiece color plate, (vi), 199 pages, 96 black-and-white photographic plates. First edition. Edward Step was the author of many popular and specialist books on various aspects of nature. "With one hundred and seventy-six illustrations reproduce from original photographs by the author." Volume one covers the range of wil flowers found from March to late June; Volume Two covers the range of wild flowers found from Late June to September. In addition to the photographic plates, there are numerous text photographs as well. Bookplates; early owner signature on front blank leaves. Very good.
