Book in very good, clean condition. Boards are lightly soiled and worn along edges, with spine ends lightly frayed. Internally, a previous owners name is inked to top of 1st free end-page with a small inscription underneath and a .05 cent Kennedy stamp affixed underneath the inscription. Otherwise pages clean and bright, but fore-edge is two toned. The binding is tight with hinges intact. The dust jacket is in one piece and not price clipped, but lightly soiled and shelfworn, with a small damp stain to bottom of spine strip.
Synopsis
Why England Slept is the published version of a thesis written by John F. Kennedy while in his senior year at Harvard College. Its title was an allusion to Winston Churchill's 1938 book While England Slept, which also examined the buildup of German power.
