About This Item
New York: Random House, (1941). First edition. His first and most famous book. Novel based on his father's life, made into the long-running Broadway musical. SIGNED BY SCHULBERG WITH CRYPTIC "46-61-72" beneath his signature on back of a portion of paper torn from a form still retaining partial name and "identity card number" of Paul "Dr. Z" Zimmerman. Good, tight, square copy with few light damp stains on spine which is significantly sunned but with gilt stamped lettering still clear. In good dust jacket that shows extensive edge wear, though not affecting any lettering, and that is nonetheless relatively clean and bright. From the collection of sports writer Paul "Dr. Z" Zimmerman.
