New York: The Macmillan Company, 1936. 570 pages in good condition. Pages are mostly clean and unmarked with some light smudging and staining in the margins of a few pages. Back endpaper is creased and lightly marked. Front inner hinge is torn but intact. Darkened on the fpdep. Page edges are darkened and smudged. Head edges are dyed black with fading publisher's stain. Bound in grey cloth with blue titles. Smudged, worn, and darkened around the edges. Spine is darkened and spotted. Boards are darkened and smudged. 1ST PRINTING. G/- -. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Good.

Synopsis

We the Living is the first novel published by the American novelist Ayn Rand. It was also Rand's first expression against communism. First published in 1936, it is a story of life in post-revolutionary Russia. Ayn Rand observes in the foreword to this book that We the Living was the closest she would ever come to writing an autobiography. Her working title for the novel had been "Airtight. " We the Living was first completed in 1934, but, despite the support it received from H.L.
