London: The Rebman Publishing Company, Ltd. Very Good+ with no dust jacket. 1896. First Edition. Hardcover. First edition. Patterned green/black boards with very bright gilt titling and gilt borders on a red label, plus a gilt logo/publishers details to the spine, and bright gilt decoration and lettering to the front board. No dustjacket. Very slight 'lean' to the book. Top and side edges of pages red. Plain endpapers which have a little browning. Some very light scattered foxing spots to the prelims only o/w overall the book is an Excellent Very Clean, Tight and Bright copy. No Inscriptions or Marks apart from an oval stamp to the top corner of the Title Page stating - "With Publisher's Compliments. Review copy". "It is now fully recognised that an abundant supply of pure water is an absolute necessity for the preservation of health......whilst all out large towns have...more or less satisfactory supplies of water.....the bulk of the population living in villages and rural districts is still dependant upon improperly constructed and unprotected shallow wells."
