About This Item
Washington, DC: Government Printing Office, 1887. Hardcover. Small 4to. Half green calf with gilt spine lettering and green cloth. 1019pp. Marbled page edges, marbled endpapers. Very good. Spine sunned to a golden brown, though gilt lettering bright and sharp. Tight and attractive first edition of this volume (the second half of a 2-part subset) in what's known as the "Official Records" or simply the "O.R." Internally quite bright, white and crisp. Errata slip tipped in. Part II consists of "Correspondence, Etc." -- "Correspondence, Orders, and Returns Relating to Operations in West Tennessee and Northern Mississippi from June 10, 1862, to January 20, 1863." Overall a strikingly handsome volume.
