Taylor's detailed, photo-illustrated account of three extended trips to Africa visiting nearly every imaginable point of interest: Victoria Falls, diamond and gold mines, Kenya, Uganda, Tanganyika, the Pyramids, the Nile River, the Sahara Desert, the Great Rift and much more. First Edition inscribed and signed by Taylor in black ink thus: "With many kindly thoughts, | Orla B. Taylor | To Mr. Edward L. Hearne | April 12, 1931." Inscription and signature unconditionally guaranteed to pass any COA examination. Notably Hearne served as Supreme Knight of the Knights of Columbus. His copy. Illustrated with hundreds of photos published for the first time. Includes full index. Bound in burgundy cloth with gilt lettering to front and spine panels and pictorial of jungle village to front panel. Scarce dust jacket in archival Brodart sleeve. 236 pp. 8" x 5 1/2". Tight, immaculate copy. Extremities crisp. Unmarked front to back. Light chipping to head and tail of dust jacket. An exceptionally presentable copy of an important ca. 1920's African travel account.
