About This Item
New York City: New York Graphic Society, 1977. First. Hardcover. VG-/VG-. Off-white cloth Very Good minus "well-loved" condition with some mustiness & rubbing to covers, possible dampstains. Dust-jacket is quite heavily rubbed with chips and creasing especially to edges and crown and base of spine; price-clipped; otherwise intact and strong. Color & b/w images throughout. This copy is not only inscribed "For Peter [Schjeldahl, friend, poet, art critic], Best wish, Tony 1980 L.A." but also boasts a a few in drawings above signature and on opposing half-title page. Signature page (verso of map endpaper) has been scissored at bottom, eliminating (partially) what looks like an earlier (1977) inscription. Tony Berlant is an artist based in Los Angeles.
