About This Item
New York: Harper and Brothers, 1947. First Edition. First printing. 12mo. Red cloth hardcover; dustjacket; 125pp; illus. Tight and straight; small splash-stain to upper corner of rear board, else Very Good. In the original dustwrapper, unclipped (priced $2.00 on front flap); lightly soiled, with small stain to rear panel, being transfer from the aforementioned stain on rear board; Very Good.
One of the earliest and (in this cataloguer's opinion) still one of the best full-length profiles of Sinatra, originally published as a series of articles in The New Yorker where Kahn was a staff writer for nearly fifty years. Essential for gathering the flavor and extraordinary progress of Sinatra's early fame and the post-war "bobb-soxer" phenomenon.
