About This Item

New Kensington: Whitaker House, 2005. . 158 pages, updated English. For a very long time it has been claimed that this was not in fact written by Bunyan, but perhaps by a printer named George Larkin, who, it is stated, appears as "G L" as the author in an early edition under a different title. See Notes and Queries, No 65 and No 95, at Project Gutenberg. Also "Forgeries on John Bunyan" in the Offor edition of Bunyan's Works. The colophon in the Whitaker House edition claims that Bunyan's original title was "My Sojourn to Heaven and Stopover to Hell" but this was in fact the title of an edition issued by the extraordinarily successful 1980s conspiracy theorist Mary Stewart Relfe of "666 in the bar code" fame/infamy.. Paperback. Good Plus.
