London: John Murray, 1876. Leather. Very Good Indeed. 8.5" by 5.5". None. A smart collection of six lectures on society in Eastern countries, including India. Third edition, to which are added other lectures and addresses. Bound by J. Low, with binders label to the rear pastedown. Sir Henry Sumner Maine, born in 1822, was a British historian and comparative jurist. In a morocco binding with gilt detailing. Externally, smart, with just some slight rubbing to the extremities, and some fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with just some scattered instances of foxing. Very Good Indeed
