Below bookplate former owner name with date. DJ piece missing head of spine and (part of top front cover) , some wear foot of spine, heavy cornerwear, spine darkened and spotted, scratches and light creasing top edge front cover, removed tape stain foot of spine. Overall, a tight solid copy (despite DJ) with clean text and illustrations. ; Light blue cloth with small white flag decoration cover, gilt lettering spine, frontis, Chronology of the War 1861-1865, index. Book consists of letters (chosen from about 500) to and from his parents and siblings. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 340 pages .
